General Care and Safety Guide

Thank you for choosing a Goldair MicathermicHeater. This Goldair Heater has been designed and manufactured to high standards of engineering and with proper useand care, as described in  this leaflet,will give you years of useful service. Please read these instructionscarefully.

 

1. Use only the voltage specified on the ratinglabel of the appliance.

2. Keep all objects at least 1 meter from the front, sides and rearof the appliance. Do not place appliance close to radiant heat source.

3. Do not operate in areas where petrol, paint orother flammable liquids are used or stored.

4. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilationor exhaust opening, as this may cause an electric shock, fire or damage to theappliance. Do not sit on the appliance.

5. Do not operate this appliance with a damaged cord, plug or afterthe appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Returnto a qualified electrical person for examination, electrical service or repair.

6. This appliance is intended for household useonly and not for commercial or industrial use.

7. Use this appliance only as described in this manual. Any otheruse  is not  recommended by the manufacturer and may causefire, electrical shock or injury.

8. The common cause of overheating is deposits of dust or fluff inthe appliance. Ensure these deposits are removed regularly by unplugging theappliance and vacuum cleaning the air vents and grills.

9. Do not use abrasive cleaning products on this appliance. Cleanwith a damp cloth (not wet) rinsed in hot soapy water only. Always remove plugfrom the mains supply before cleaning.

10. Do not connect the appliance to mains supplyuntil completely assembled and adjusted.

11. Switch off and use handles provided whenmoving.

12. Do not operate with cord set coiled up as a heat build up islikely, which could be sufficient to become a hazard.

13. The use of an extension cord, power board, or external timer isnot recommended with this unit.

14. Do not remove plug from power socket until theappliance has been switched off.

15. Do not remove plug from power socket bypulling cord; always grip plug.

16. Always unplug appliance when not in use.

17. Do not locate the heater directly below anypower socket during operation.

18. Do not twist, kink or wrap the cord around the appliance,as  this may cause  the insulation to weaken and split. Always ensure that all cord has beenremoved from any cord storage area and is unrolled before use.

19. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (includingchildren) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack ofexperience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been given instructionconcerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety..

20. Do not use this appliance in the immediate surrounds of a bath,a shower, or a swimming pool or other liquids. The appliance must not beimmersed in any liquids.

21. When the appliance has been unpacked, check it for transportdamage and ensure all parts have been delivered. If parts are missing or theappliance has been damaged, contact the Goldair Customer Services Team. (referto details on back page)

22. If your appliance does not work, or is not working properly,contact the place of purchase or the Goldair Customer Services Team. (refer todetails on back page). Repair work on the appliance by unqualified persons can cause serious risk to the user.

23. There are no user serviceable parts installedin the unit.

24. Do not place the unit in wardrobes or otherenclosed spaces as this may cause fire hazards.

25. This unit is not supposed to be used in or around locationswhere foodstuffs, works of art or delicate articles of science, etc are stored.

26. Indoor use only.

27. Children should be supervised to ensure thatthey do not play with the appliance.

28. Ensure heater is on a flat, stable,heat-resistant surface.

 

Overview of your Micathermic Heater

Micathermic heating uses bothradiant and convection heating technology. Natural convection currentsdistribute the heat evenly throughout the room, while radiant heat from theheating surface warms people and objects in the room. This heater is equippedwith two heat settings.

 


                         

    

Castor Fittings

Install Castor 

Take out four castors, two wheelbrackets, four fixing screws, four flat-gasket of 4mm diameter, four spring-gasket of 4mm diameter from list. According to pictureA, Firmly install castor on wheel bracket.

  

  

InstallWheel Bracket 

Take bothwheel-brackets once castors installed, take two Standard Screws, twoflat-gasket of 5mm diameter,two spring-gasket of 5mmdiameter. According to picture B, firmly install wheel-bracket on the bottom ofHeater.

Operating your Micathermic Heater

Always choose a safe location for the heater, keeping in mind thesafety precautions outlined.  Ensure allpackaging has been removed from the unit before use. This appliance requires noinstallation, it should be used solely as a portable appliance.

SAFETY DEVICE

This appliance has three protection devices:

The first device will automatically turn theappliance off if the appliance is not in the appropriate operatingposition. 

The second device, automatically disconnects& reconnects the appliance at a preset temperature.

The third device disconnects the appliancepermanently in case of overheating, by means of a thermal fuse. (It is nonresettable)

 

IMPORTANT! NEVERCOVER THIS HEATER!

Covering the heater will cause activation ofthe non resettable safety fuse.

 

CARE AND CLEANING

Do not attempt to dismantle the MicathermicHeater. There are no user serviceable parts. For service or repair, contact anauthorised electrical service technician. The outer shell may be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. You mayuse a mild detergent if necessary. After cleaning, dry the unit with a softcloth. CAUTION: DO NOT let liquid enter the heater.

 

CAUTION

The Micathermic Heater generates heat duringuse. Proper precautions must be taken to prevent  the risk of burns, scalds, fires or otherdamage to persons.

 

CAUTION: never install the heater directly beneath a socket-outlet or in such away that people  in the baths, showers orpools may have to touch live parts such as a switch. Important: The radiatormust be connected to an earthed outlet of the appropriate voltage.

 

Note: When the heater is turned on for the first time,it may release a slight, odour or smoke. This odour or smoke is a normaloccurrence caused by the initial heating of the internal heating elements andshould not occur again.

 

 

Two Year Warranty

YourGoldair product has been inspected and tested and is guaranteed subject to thefollowing for a period of two years from the date of purchase against defectsin workmanship and materials. During this period, such defects will berectified by repair or replacement of the product purchased. Your productcontains no user serviceable components and this warranty becomes invalid if inour opinion the product has been misused, abused, incorrectly installed,tampered with, connected to an electrical supply not corresponding with thename plate specification, or subjected to power surges. The warranty does notinclude any labour or other associated expense that may be involved in removalor installation of the product. Normal wear and tear is expressly excluded. Ifyour Goldair product fails to operate satisfactorily, please return it to theretailer from whom it was purchased. To obtain a repair or replacement productunder this warranty, you will need to produce satisfactory evidence of date ofpurchase. The completed warranty and purchase receipt must be presented withthe product. The warranty should be filled out at the time of purchase. It isin your interest to make sure this is done.

 

Ifthe product is to be replaced (cannot be repaired) then that replacement willbe of the same or similar product or accessory excluding packaging, instructioncard etc. Where a replacement product is supplied, this shall be guaranteed forthe balance of the original warranty period. Any model that is no longeravailable will be replaced by a model of a value and with such features as weconsider appropriate in the circumstances. Goldair is not responsible forfreight forwarding charges, losses or damage in transit. If service is requiredafter the warranty period has expired, the product should be returned toaqualified electrical technician. Service outside of the warranty period will beat your cost. Consumers Guarantee Act (1993). In accordance with the above actconsumers are advised that: The manufacturer does not undertake that repairfacilities and parts are necessarily available for this product. If any of theprovisions of the foregoing are contrary to any relevant legislation, then thatprovision shall be deemed to be excluded from the warranty and the rest of theprovisions will continue to apply.
